Snack Bar Castello

A gem amongst the crowd, Snack Bar Castello was definitely worth the visit. An authentic restaurant located away from the hustle and bustle of the center of Venice, we enjoyed great tasting pizzas with a scenic view. The pizzas were excellent. We enjoyed the Margarita and Prosciutto. The pizzas are thin based and the dough was very good tasting. You even have the option of a gluten free base. The staff were polite and very friendly. Very good service in my opinion. To drink we had Prosecco (Ca’ di Rajo), Spritz and Irish coffee. All the drinks were good. The items were very reasonably priced and good value for money. Besides the good food and drinks you can also enjoy beautiful scenery of the Venice promenade and San Giorgio Maggiore Basilica. Atmosphere is relaxed, casual and no fuss. Overall great experience.

Loved it here! Came on the first day by chance, had good food for a reasonable price, good portion sizes as well. No extra table/service fee and very polite staff. Spaghetti pomodoro, aglio olio e pepperoncino, carbonara - all wonderful. Mixed salad and bread - you could almost eat only them and be happy with your meal. We recommend putting olive oil, salt and peper on the bread - a delicacy. Avoid the city centre’s overpriced and poor quality restaurants and enjoy a chill lunch or dinner here, in a more peaceful neighbourhood. Thank you for everything Castello!

Wow, what a pleasant surprise! Delicious Italian comfort food on this chilly Saturday night. Don’t judge a book by its cover… From the outside you would probably not want to stop by, but trust me what’s inside is what counts and this place delivers! Now, I can only speak for what I had but what I had was excellent!

Good service, nice menu options for adults and kids, and great value. Kids were happy with the food and running up and down the large pedestrian street. Good view of the waterfront.

Really good food and friendly staff! The restaurant has affordable prices. The menu offers gluten free pizza dough and gluten free pasta. They also have a lot of vegetarian options. My boyfriend ate vegan pizza (without cheese) and I ate gluten free pasta with tomato sauce. Everything was really tasty and the waitress was really nice! I recommend this place, it really is a gem.
